Welcome to College Search Navigators

The college search and application process can seem daunting, with the increasing competitiveness of admissions, pressure to find “the right college,” and layers of deadlines and submissions requirements.

Did you know?

  • Applications being submitted to colleges continue to break all-time records
  • Recruiting by elite colleges results in more applications being submitted
  • The recession has resulted in a substantial increase in applications to public colleges, making admission to these schools more difficult than in the past

Whether this is your family’s first voyage, or you are a seasoned veteran of the journey, we at College Search Navigators are here to help you find your way to a successful and fulfilling college destination!

The College Bound Journey - let us guide your way

With thousands of four-year accredited colleges and universities in the United States alone, the search for the right school can seem like finding the needle in a haystack! It is not just about “getting into college.” It is about making smart choices to help ensure a best match between student and school – academically and socially.

Colleges receive thousands of applications per year, making it a challenge for a student to stand out in the crowd. It is therefore critical for a student to “jump off the page” and demonstrate his or her own individuality, in a voice that is his or her own.

Many students now apply to an average of 10 colleges, most using online applications. Keeping track of deadlines alone can be difficult, in an already confusing and stressful process.

At College Search Navigators, our mission is to help students and parents search intelligently for a continuum of “great fit” schools, to maximize a student’s potential through personalized guidance in developing the student profile, applications and essays – while at the same time de-stressing the overall process.

Wherever you are on the college admissions path, we are there to guide you.
The journey to college begins when high school begins. In addition to our College Bound Package for juniors and seniors, our Pre-Collegiate Packages for freshmen and sophomores provide guidance tailored to the issues of these formative grade levels; thereby helping students to make the most of their high school experience, and face the college admissions process with confidence.

College Transfer Assistance

Need to change your college path? Our services include guidance throughout the challenging transfer application process. Whether you are moving to the next level (such as from a community college to a four-year college), or looking for a better fit at another four-year school, we can assist you in making that important transition.

Our customized one-on-one counseling sessions can be conducted through in-person meetings at locations most convenient for the student, or via e-distance webcam meetings (allowing us to work with students across town - or across the country).

We offer a wide range of resources, including research on educational and placement trends, current reference materials (including our archives from personal campus visits), as well as a professional network of referrals and resources available through the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling (NJACAC).

Early Action and Early Decision Deadlines are Approaching!

This should not be news to those of you who are in the final throes of completing your EA or ED submission - deadlines are approaching!! Make sure all your ducks are in a row, your SAT or ACT score reports sent, your school forms submitted with pre-addressed envelopes and return address labels, your teacher recommendations all set. Most of all, make sure that your guidance counselor and recommenders know of the deadline, whether it is November 1, November 15, or December 1. And most of all, good luck!!
